Shopping for Printers

There are a wide variety of printers available in todays
computer stores, however most people are only aware of a
couple of different kinds. The most common types of printers
include dye diffusion thermal transfer, ink jet and bubble
jet, laser, dot-matrix, and daisy wheel.
The dye diffusion thermal transfer is a process that is used
by color printers. So, if you have a color printer it is
more than likely that it uses the dye diffusion process.
However, you might not know exactly how this process occurs.
What happens during the printing process with a dye
diffusion laser is that the colored wax ink is deposited
onto the page after it has been warmed by the printer, a
process which occurs multiple times on the same page in
order to get all of the colors. Color printers have become
very popular because they allow for a wide variety of
printing options that were not available with just black and
white printing.
The inkjet or bubble jet printer are types of printers that
have become very popular because of there quality and
affordability. The quality of these printers is average and
good for students and small businesses. The one downfall of
these printers is that the ink needs to dry before touching
the page or it might smear. Other than this, the inkjet
printer provides great quality for its below average price.
The laser printer is the best printer option on the
marketplace because of its speed and superior quality. With
a laser printer you will not have to worry about the way
your work will be presented because it is of utmost quality.
These printers are expensive, however, so if you do not
really need a high quality printer you might consider the
inkjet. If you do need high quality, the laser printer is
the best option.
The dot-matrix printer offers the least quality of all;
however it does come at a very affordable price and is very
durable. Because of this, many companies still utilize the
dot-matrix printers for certain functions like printing
receipts and invoices. This type of printer works by using a
set of pins to stamp an ink ribbon that in turns presses the
images onto the page.
Regardless of what you need, there is a printer available to
meet your budget and your needs. All you need to do is sit
down with a pencil and piece of paper and take note of what
you need as well as what your budget it. From there, you
will be able to decide which printer is best for you.
